How Are the Miners Looking?

Sunday, April 17, 2022. The metals prices are UP overseas, and approaching new all-time highs. Should we care? I’m going to try to find out… I’ve got 63 listed issues in my watchlist, and am charting every one of them now.

My first look is at an average of them all, as if it were an index. Price is clearly approaching the previous 52-week high, but the average volume is nowhere to be seen. The real move has been since the 1/28 bottom, up to the recent 3/8 high. That consolidated the past month… price broke out of it to the upside, but there’s NO volume to make it look convincing yet. How does each issue look separately?

I only look at about 1/2 of them, after I’ve sorted by a measure of relative strength. I want to look at the ones that are actually working. I’ll just throw up the symbols of those that are looking the very best. Chart them for yourself and see. If there’s going to be a breakout in the metals prices, these are going to take you for a lovely ride!

Ooo, see ORLA. AUY is hot. SSRM, SA, EGO, RGLD, NEM, CGAU, a personal favorite WPM, GOLD and FNV.

Now, I’m not much the trader any longer, so I’m perfectly content with dividend-paying BTG, GDX, SII and WPM… all the precious metals shares I own. Chart those babies and see that they’re looking perfectly fine!

I’m Not Dead!

Sunday, April 17, 2022. It may be upon us. My precious metals stocks are making new 52-week highs right in here, and as I look at the price of the metals trading overseas, before our markets open in the morning, I see a good bump in the prices that are saying that this move is now about to challenge all-time highs.

I last wrote in February, just below, and said the BIG jump in the price of numismatics was very telling. We may be just about to find out if that was truly real. There’s certainly plenty of reason for metals to move, between inflation and war. They have historically always been great movers of the metals prices, and it looks as if they may be starting a potential big push again right here and now.

Our markets open in 12 hours… Let’s see what the day might bring!
